Before I had kids, I thought love at first sight only occurred when two people met and instantly fell in love. What I learned is a similar type of reaction occurs when a mother/father meet their baby for the very first time. Many people wonder what it feels like to become a mother/father. It is often described as an indescribable feeling, I fell in love the moment I saw him/her, or I never knew I could love someone so much, etc.
I remember the moment I saw both of my girls for the first time. I was an awe of everything! From their big bright eyes, little button noses, cute little toes, and beautiful faces. I was overwhelmed with love and happiness. It was like a burst of emotion took over; I sobbed like a baby! Just when I thought my heart couldn’t love anyone else; my heart proved me wrong the moment I became a mother. At that moment, I knew I would do anything for them, be the best I could for them, and love them unconditionally. Some people say there is no greater love than becoming a parent. I would have to agree! It’s a very different feeling when you meet “the one” or the day of your wedding/reciting your vows to the love of your life, much, much different. If anyone has ever seen Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2, where Jacob imprints on Renesmee, it reminded me of the moment when I first met my girls. The way he looked at her, protected her from all harm, and loved her brought very similar feelings of my girls when I watched this particular scene. I know it’s a silly comparison but I LOVED the Twilight movies.
On this Valentine’s Day, hold your babies close and give them a ridiculous amount of kisses! I hope this brings back some memories of what you felt during your first time meeting your baby. If you haven’t thought of any ideas, make a Valentine’s Day card or write a letter in their baby book of what you felt when you saw them for the first time J It will be a great memory!
Happy Valentine’s Day from Love.Labor.Life.

In my downtime, I love to read! Learning and teaching is a passion of mine. Due to my passion of teaching. I want to share an article I came across. It's from a trusted organization called ACOG (American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists).
